Rolling Anti-Lag Control¶
CORE ECU provides a dedicated Rolling Anti-Lag Control feature that limits vehicle speed or engine speed (RPM), user-selectable, while the Rolling Anti-Lag button is pressed, allowing turbocharged engines to build boost before a rolling launch. The following steps outline the process for configuring and enabling Rolling Anti-lag control.
Rolling Anti-Lag Wiring Setup¶
The step-by-step procedures below outline how to wire your toggle or momentary switch to your I/O sub-harness.
Note
- Before beginning the below wiring setup, you will need to have purchased a harness for your specific application, you can purchase your specific harness here.
- Additionally you will need to purchase the I/O sub harness.
-
Connect the I/O sub harness to your Drive-by-Cable or Drive-by-Wire harness.
-
Mount your rolling anti-lag toggle or momentary switch in your preferred location.
-
Ground the black ground wire to the vehicle's chassis.
-
Splice the rolling anti-lag toggle or momentary switch signal wire to any of the available inputs from the I/O sub harness.
-
Rolling anti-lag toggle or momentary switch is now wired properly.
Rolling Anti-Lag VCM Live Setup¶
-
Download the latest version of VCM Live Beta here.
-
Open VCM Live and click the drop down arrow in the group layout tab and select Power Adder.
-
Locate the Rolling Anti-Lag Control Enabled parameter and select Yes.
-
Select the Rolling Anti-Lag Setup tab in the top menu bar and locate both the Minimum Rolling Anti-Lag Engine Coolant Temperature & Maximum Rolling Anti-Lag Engine Coolant Temperature parameters and adjust to your preferred operating windows.
-
Locate the below parameters and configure to your desired values.
-
Locate the Maximum Rolling Anti-Lag Active Time parameter and adjust to your desired value.
Note
Once activated, Rolling Anti-Lag Control remains active for up to the duration set by Maximum Rolling Anti-Lag Active Time, provided the arming switch stays engaged and all activation conditions continue to be met.
-
Rolling Anti-lag is now enabled.
Rolling Anti-Lag Tuning Setup¶
Note
Your professional tuner is your first line of support for tuning questions. We strongly recommend having all vehicle calibrations performed by a professional tuner.
-
Both the ROLLING ANTI-LAG IGNITION RETARD (°) & ROLLING ANTI-LAG FUEL ENRICHMENT (%) tables apply their corrections immediately upon activation. Use these two tables to adjust fuel and ignition values as needed.
-
Locate the Rolling Anti-Lag Control Mode parameter and select your limiting strategy.
Depending on the selected mode, CORE limits either engine speed (RPM) or vehicle speed (VSS) by fully cutting fuel, spark, or both.
- Fix Engine Speed: Activates an engine speed limiter (rev limiter) at a fixed engine speed. Once all activation conditions are satisfied, the rev limiter becomes active when engine speed reaches the configured threshold.
- Engine Speed when Activated (RPM): When Rolling Anti-Lag Control is activated, CORE uses the current engine speed as the target engine speed and maintains it for the duration of Rolling Anti-Lag operation.
- Fix Vehicle Speed (VSS): Activates a limiter at a fixed vehicle speed. Once all activation conditions are met, the limiter activates when the vehicle speed reaches the configured threshold.
- Vehicle Speed when Activated (VSS): When Rolling Anti-Lag Control is activated, CORE uses the current vehicle speed as the target vehicle speed and maintains it for the duration of Rolling Anti-Lag operation.
-
Locate the Rolling Anti-Lag Cut Mode parameter and select your desired rev limiter strategy.
Note
- Fuel cut
- Spark cut
- Fuel + Spark cut
