Editing Tunable Parameters🔗

In order to modify a parameter supported by the ECU, the parameter must be included in at least one subwindow of your layout. There are two subwindow types which allow editing of tunable parameters:

  • Characteristic Lists are lists of tunable parameters, with the parameter name on the left and the corresponding value on the right. Some parameters in these lists allow you to enter a numerical value. Others, require you to select a specific value from a dropdown.

  • Table Editors - are used to modify tunable tables.

Additionally, the following features can be used to modify parameter settings:

  • The Crank Cam Offset Wizard can be used to set the Crank Cam Offset Parameter.

  • The Upgrade Tune feature allows you to import desired parameter values from a saved tune file.

Note

Tuning Listed Characteristics🔗

A characteristic list has three columns: Name, Value and Unit.

Note

  • Characteristics whose names appear in red are in your current layout, but are not included in the current tune.

To change the value of a characteristic in the list:

  1. Double-click near the left end of the Value column. Some characteristics will display a drop down list of options. Others will simply allow you to type a new value.

  2. Select or enter the new value.

Note

  • The background color will change to indicate that the field's value has been modified since the last time the tune file was saved. If the new value is higher, the background will be pink & red. If lower, the color will be light purple & dark purple.

Crank Cam Offset Wizard🔗

The crank cam offset wizard can be used to determine the correct crank cam offset to use and will adjust the crank cam offset parameter according to it's findings.

Note

  • This is part of the process needed to sync a cam with a crankshaft that has no missing teeth.
  1. Add the measurement named Calculated Crank Cam Offset to your current layout.

  2. Connect to the ECU.

  3. Ensure that the engine is running at a steady RPM.

  4. In the menu bar, select ECU > Crank Cam Offset Wizard. A prompt window appears.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Observe the Calculated Crank Cam Offset measurement. It should change to a nonzero value.

  7. Enter the calculated value into the Crank Cam Offset characteristic.

  8. Click to write the tune to the ECU.
